Yoga Vacations in the Rainy Season
The rainy season has finally started in Costa Rica! Typically most people are turned off when they hear “rainy season,” thinking that daily rains will ruin their vacation. Yet, here’s the good news: rainy season in Costa Rica means beautiful vegetation and spring-like temperatures, but much less rain than you’d expect. No matter what time of year, Costa Rica is the perfect setting for a yoga retreat.
Rainy season in Costa Rica starts in May and goes through the end of November. Most days start out clear and sunny. My morning yoga classes are outside, and rain is hardly a problem even during the rainiest months. Everything is very green – a nice change after the golden landscapes of March and April. Showers roll in the early to late afternoon, it rains for an hour or two, and then it clears up for a nice cool evening. Thanks to the rains we have 13 thousand plant species in Costa Rica.
But Nature is Nature, and we have zero control over the weather. Therefore we’ve partnered with yoga retreat properties such as The Goddess Garden that offer yoga facilities where we can conduct classes comfortably, shielded from any rain or bugs. So don’t worry about the weather. Join one of our yoga retreats today and experience a yoga vacation in the tropical paradise of Costa Rica.
You can view complete regional statistics on average temperatures and rain falls on the National Weather Service of Costa Rica website (in Spanish).
